"so then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and

OVERFLOWING WITH THANKFULNESS..."

A Little Lady

Tori has blossomed into a little lady recently, complete with a shoe fetish and a penchant for purses.

Never mind the fact that the shoes rarely match.... (at least she picked a right one and a left one!)

Over-exposed I know, but it catches her so "in the moment" of her purse play. And a Lady can never have too many bags (notice the other bag at arm's reach just-in-case...)!

And the in-motion comings and goings of Purse Play with her bag of choice ....

I wish I had a video.... You'll just have to picture her left arm swinging to and fro as the right arm holds steady, clutching the purse straps in place.

The Truth about the Financial Crisis

Kern County Fair and Rodeo

We made our annual trip to the Rodeo this past weekend and had a blast.
We told Lexy on Tuesday that we were going to the Rodeo on Friday by using her own words of description from last year (when she was 2)-- "Horseys running around, and Cows running around, and Cowboys hats are falling down". SHE REMEMBERED IT and went on to describe in her now 3-yr-old vocabulary how they try to catch the cows with the ropes, but the cows run away. And how the cowboys want to ride the horses, but the horses say "Get Off of my back!" It's really crazy to think that she is now at the point where she will remember things about life FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. SCARY THOUGHT.

We made a sweet trip to Dewar's Ice Cream shop, as well. A favorite of just about everyone in the family, for sure.

Thank you Gigi for letting us stay at your house and coming with us to the fair!

Firsts

This week has been filled with firsts...
Yesterday, Lexy and I went to our first AWANA Cubbies meeting. She is super excited about her "Cuvvies" class and has been asking for weeks, "Are we going to Cuvvies today, Mom?"
I have the privilege of being her table leader, so I'm sure it will be a memorable year.
Despite bringing my camera and having every intention of capturing the "first day", things were a little crazy and I didn't get around to actually taking any pictures. Oops.

But never fear...

On to today! And another First!

gearing up to go to school....

Today Lexy had her first day of preschool. She is going to a city-sponsored program called Terrific Tots on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and based on her reaction today, I think she loves it. :) Here are some shots I took before I left this morning...

waiting patiently for the doors to open
and let her in. She LOVES her lunchbox with horses that
Grandma brought back to her from Churchill Downs.

She made a bee-line for the kitchen (of course) as soon as we went inside

And then she noticed the play dough...

I'm standing at the door just about to walk out and this was my final shot. I said, "Bye Lexy!", hoping that she would at least GLANCE in my direction, but no. She just continued playing with her play dough and casually said "Bye Mom. Have fun," without even looking up. I guess that means she's ready for preschool. My little girl is growing up. :)
