"so then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and

OVERFLOWING WITH THANKFULNESS..."

Living off the land

This week has been Bill's spring break, and therefore, we've been on the go doing various family activities all week. My favorite--and I dare say the family's favorite-- is Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, CA. We were frequent visitors last summer and enjoyed POUNDS of self-picked raspberries.....

Well, the raspberries aren't in season quite yet, but no worries... STRAWBERRIES ARE!

And OH!, what glorious strawberries they are! The fields are absolutely TEEMING with them, and they are sooooo good. There is nothing quite like a perfectly ripe strawberry, fresh from the field, still warm from the suns glow. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!

In addition to strawberries, we picked celery, artichokes, and broccoli....
Lexy LOVES broccoli (and that's probably an understatement). I steamed one head of our broccoli for dinner the other night, and OH MY was it good.

There sure is something sweet about picking your own food from the fields. FRESH fruits and vegetables taste so much better!! And even though we didn't grow the stuff ourselves, there is still so much satisfaction knowing "I picked this" as you savor each bite.

Rest assured this won't be our last trip to the farm....
